Rebecca's Trip

This morning Rebecca left to go on her trip to Washington, DC with about 1100 other safety patrol students. They left from Knoxville Center Mall where there were 25 tour buses. It was really a site to see because they got a police escort out of the place at 7am. There were 2 police cars and 3 blue hawks in front of Rebecca's bus and police cars spaced out between buses all the was back. At one point, all you could see was buses with no end in site. I forgot my camera so I didn't get any pics to post. I only made one picture on my phone, and I don't know how to download it to my computer so you lucked out this time. She has already called and talked to her PaPaw, and they weren't even there yet. I wish I had been up to talk to her. Anyway, they'll be back Monday evening. So until then, have a good day.

I thought I would add something funny about this. I was at work telling my co-workers about a parent getting hit by a car while waiting for their child to leave on the bus. It was almost 4 am and we were all getting a little giddy. Louise just looked at me all serious like and said, "Well, where were all the safety patrols?" When she said that she started laughing so hard she was crying. At that point we all fell apart and needless to say, it was a tearful night the rest of the night. I don't think I have laughed so hard in a long time. Everytime something was said, we would say something funny about it and start all over again. Just goes to show you, the police were there, but how many people have you ever heard of getting hit by a car when the 5th grade safety patrol was in charge?

Work

Last night was a good night at work. It wasn't too busy and we still had time to visit with each other and have a good time. For once and I had all my work caught up by midnight. We all brought food and had a good time celebrating the graduation of Danielle and Lori. Lori was already an RN but went back to school to get her bachelor's degree. Danielle has been a nursing assistant/unit secretary working her way through UT and graduated with a bachelor's degree in nursing. She is studying now to take her NCLEX exam to get her license:

Lori was off last night but came by to eat and visit:

Kara came by for a visit. She used to work with us but now is doing a traveling assignment in another state:

After everyone ate, we all got kind of lazy. From left is Penny with her back to the camera, Geri, Danielle (still studying), and the other Lori:

Louise is a great nurse and has the highest education of all of us. She has a Master's degree. She is great! She doesn't let her education go to her head. We can always count on her to help us out and answer our questions. She is wonderful with her patients:

Stephanie is one of our newer nurses on day shift. She is so sweet and quiet. We're going to have to break her in. We've been trying but so far, she's still quiet:

Cheryl is an LPN on day shift. She has been there since they laid the first brick. I guess she'll be there til the cows come home:

Penny is one of our CNA's on night shift. She is so funny!:

Sandra is another day shift LPN who has been there forever. She was tired and decided to relax before going home (you can tell that nurses always practice good posture):

Tom was charge nurse on day shift and Louise was charge on nights. They were working together discussing the patient/nurse assignment. As you can tell, Tom was really thinking hard:

Cheryl and Abbie posed together. Abbie has recently gotten her master's degree in nursing and is going to be a nurse practitioner:

Abbie likes to chew her gum. She is a nut:

So this was my night at work last night. Now I must go and finish getting ready for church. Have a good day.

About Me

I am now an RN. I love taking pictures, especially of my grandchildren. I love taking care of people and wish there was more time to do it. Management puts so much paperwork and picky stuff on us we really don't have time to do the job we are destined to do.
